Website Photography
When getting a new website designed for your business, it is a good idea to consider whether you would also benefit from a professional photography service to complement the build.
At Design M, we provide an additional commercial and corporate photography option to local businesses that come to us for their website design. There are many benefits to this, one of which is that we know exactly what photos will work well to complement the site design throughout, and we can therefore aim to take those photographs specifically.
The new website design itself can then be created with the new photographs in mind, as key elements will have been photographed for specific usage on the website. For example, page photos, gallery photos, buttons, headers, sliders, meet the team, product types, services, and more. The finished website will then give a unique and very ‘real’ sense of the business. The result of which will create the feeling of a smooth and seamless online journey for your customers, where the photos are not just additional add-ons but are instead a well thought-out part of the website build as a whole, therefore providing a better user experience.
At Design M, we also provide our professional photographs as high resolution files, which means that our clients can then use our images for a range of additional promotional purposes, such as printed brochures, product and services’ case studies and leaflets.
Case studies:
www.middlefarm.com
A working family farm with a cider barn, tea room and shop, based in Firle, Lewes.
Middle Farm contacted us to design a whole new website for their well-known East Sussex farm business. At the same time, they also commissioned our photography service so that we could provide them with a full set of images to use throughout the new site design. To enable us to capture various seasonal changes on the farm, we visited their premises a number of times to take photographs. Photos were taken throughout the farm grounds and open farm (which included meeting some very friendly animals!), inside the tea room, produce and gift shop, cider barn and butchery, and included lots of close up shots of delicious cakes, cheeses, meat and produce. The result is Middle Farm’s stylish, modern and colourful website, which beautifully demonstrates the benefits of using unique, professional photographs of your real business instead of impersonal stock library images.
www.hawesbuilding.co.uk
Residential and commercial building services company based in Polegate, East Sussex.
We were asked to design Hawes Building two new websites: one for their main building business and one specifically for their diamond drilling work. To complement their main website design, we also provided our professional corporate and commercial photography service. Although they did already have a number of photographs they wanted to use on the website, it enabled them to get even more and also include some of their most recent projects. The images taken by us boosted their existing collection of images for the website by about 50%. We visited various sites where Hawes had building jobs. Some were work in progress (which required us to return at a later date to record further progress) and others were completed projects. Our professional photographs were also used to demonstrate case studies both online and in printed material for Hawes to show to clients. We also took headshots of staff members to use on their ‘meet the team’ website page, and we now continue to work with Hawes to photograph their newest building projects as they happen.

Residential care home located in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
St Margaret’s Care Home contacted us to design a whole new website for their residential care business. At the same time, they also commissioned our photography service so that we could provide them with a full set of images to use throughout the new site design. While we had to take photographs that truly represented the home, as there were many people living there at the time we had to be careful not intrude on the privacy of the residents. The professional photographs taken were used throughout the whole website and they really captured the warm, welcoming and personal feel of the home. Our photographs were also used in the St Margaret’s printed brochure which we also designed at a later date, and this helped to keep their branding consistent.
